Footage: Capture of the earthquake from the moment of its occurrence at the News room of Sendai Broadcasting. A weak 6 on the JMA seismic intensity scale, the shaking continued for about 3 minutes. Due to the fierce shaking, documents and other objects fall to the floor from desks and shelves around the room, scattering about the floor. People hang on to their desks, computers, and monitors so as not to let them fall. The next minute, greater shaking strikes and confusion fills the air. Further increasing its intensity, facilities within the room sway, more objects fall and scatter, and the picture on the TV monitor blurs. Prolonged shaking causes the lights to flicker and eventually go out. The room temporarily blacks out but emergency power supply takes over immediately and lights are lit once again.
