Hi, it’s Yuuka! Today, I’ve come to the mud baths at Guanziling in Taiwan. It’s about an hour by bullet train from Taipei, and then another hour by taxi. So, here I am in Tainan. Apparently, it’s one of the world’s top three mud baths and quite famous. Even though it’s a weekday morning, it’s pretty crowded. This place is really popular. The mud bath here is part of a hot spring, so you can enjoy it on a day trip too. Let’s go inside and explore the mud baths. Here we go! *Oops, the mud baths are the other way This place is called King’s Garden Villa. Inside, it’s really stylish and full of greenery. It’s a villa? Or maybe a hotel? Let’s walk towards the mud bath area. Loving me will make not just your skin but your brain smooth too. Wow, what’s this? Amazing. Is this a hot spring too? Shikiyuya. The spa is this way. Looks like it’s down this hill. The buildings are all so stylish! Whoa, this is crazy. I can’t stop! Look, there are ducks like this, so cute! Yesterday, I took the Shinkansen here. It felt so much like the Japanese Shinkansen, and when I checked, it turns out they customized it based on the Japanese model. It’s really modeled after Japan’s, and I felt a bit emotional. I chose a white swimsuit so the mud will stand out. Careful with the feet. Seems like there are both hot springs and mud baths. Which should I try first? Maybe I’ll start with the regular hot spring. Let’s save the mud bath for later. Cloudy days make your face look better, so I was hoping for clouds, but today is sunny with some clouds, so that’s good. I wanted to try the herbal bath, but there’s no water in it. Ah, looks like it’s not open. They only open on weekends. Well, today is Saturday, though. It’s called Beauty Bath. Maybe I’ll try it. There are many types of hot springs here, I wonder if it has some kind of medicinal stuff in it. so I might try them all today. But there are so many kinds of hot springs. Oh no, my swimsuit is becoming see-through, embarrassing! Oh no, it’s super see-through, so embarrassing. There are two types of mud baths, There are apparently two types of mud baths. one with lighter mud and the other with thicker mud. One is a bit thinner mud, and the other is thicker mud. The lighter mud bath is empty right now, Right now the thin mud bath is empty, so I think I’ll try that one. Oh no, it’s so cold, so cold, so cold, so cold! But because the mud is thin, it doesn’t stick much to my swimsuit. *Surprisingly silky mud bath Yeah, you have to wear a swimsuit here. Swimsuits are required here. They sell really cute swimsuits here too. I brought mine from home though. But they had so many cute ones on sale. The temperature is quite lukewarm, around 37.7°C. So it’s a bit cold. It’s fun. I’ve been looking for mud baths everywhere, but I can’t find any. The first time I tried one was in Vietnam. In Japan, you have to go to places like Kyushu, Akita, or Hokkaido. *Woman flying abroad in search of mud baths If you know any recommended mud baths, please tell me. I’ve been searching like crazy but can’t find any. Oh no, a foreigner… I guess I’m a foreigner here too. Alright, let’s head to the main area. The main one is the thick mud bath inside, over there. This is the famous thick mud bath. I’m going to try this one. Oh no, it hurts…!! It seems to be electrified, I didn’t know that. It’s an electric bath. *More gooey than muddy It’s warm and feels good. The other one was only 37°C, but this one is 41°C, so it feels great. Finally, I got to take the mud bath I’ve been dreaming of. I’m so happy. You guys love seeing me covered in mud, right? The ceiling is amazing too, it’s like a rock formation. The atmosphere of this hot spring is incredible. The whole hot spring town, actually. It’s so dark. Hey, wait, this electricity hurts. Oh, I should go this way, the light’s behind me. Oh no, now I’m sparkling. Ouch, ouch, ouch. *Voltage as strong as a punishment game GoPro view. You know, GoPro never makes my face look good. Whoa! Look, amazing!! It’s so muddy. This is a real mud bath. *Feels like I’m slathering melted ice cream My skin looks like it’ll be so smooth. I’ll make sure to get really clean. This mud is just sitting here, and you can take as much as you want. A woman dripping with mud. I went up the stairs a bit and look, there are so many playground equipment. What’s this? Is this for practicing driving? It’s like a car that four people can drive together? Yay! I don’t really get how to play with this. There’s a foot bath over here. This one is muddy too, it’s amazing. I think I’ll dip my feet in a bit. Oh, it’s warm and feels so good. This is hot (baby talk) 48℃ So hot (baby talk) There are so many different things, it’s so fun. This place is way up in the mountains, so it’s really green and the nature is amazing. But the cell signal is only 3G, so staying here for one night was a bit of a struggle. It was so hard to use my phone. I only realized this morning that there was Wi-Fi. I messed up. Since it’s Saturday, I wanted to upload a video, but it took about 3-4 hours to upload from here. It was so tough. You don’t see 3G often, right? *Updating X timeline takes 5 minutes Next, I think I’ll try this place. The pulsating herbal pool. It smells like medicine, so it might be a medicinal hot spring. I’m going to get soaked in herbs. Look, there are mushrooms growing. Poisonous mushrooms. This is warm. Maybe it’s because of the smell, but I feel like my body is rejuvenating. I really like Chinese medicine. When I catch a cold or feel unwell, I drink Chinese herbal medicine. I love this herbal medicine smell. It’s like being at sea… The waves are really rough. *Taiwanese hot springs have rough waves. Quiet down. I didn’t know Taiwan had hot springs. I thought hot springs were just a Japanese thing. So I’m really happy to enjoy hot springs abroad. The hot springs here are so rough… I want to find a quiet spot. When I hold the GoPro like this, it really shows a lot of cleavage. I’m seriously not trying to do that. I’m not giving that kind of service. So please don’t look at the GoPro too much. *See more in the membership area. It’s around 10 in the morning. It’s amazing how many people are here at 10 AM. The staff here are really kind. When I was filming, they asked "Do you need any help?" and "If you need anything, just let us know." The lady was so nice. I want to be friends with her. Just to make sure I don’t get in trouble, I did get permission to film here. I told the hotel staff, "Hey, I’ll be filming here." And they were like, "Sure, go ahead." When I film abroad, it’s always like that. There’s hardly ever a place that says no to filming. They’re more like, "Film away, promote us!" So it’s really easy. Perfect for YouTubers. It’s getting hot. I’m starting to sweat… Found a relaxation spot. Let’s take a little break here. So, there’s also a place to eat here. After this, I might grab some food and just relax. There are also pools, and it’s really spacious. How do I look? Like a cool big sister? If you saw me in the mud bath, would you hit on me? Like, "Hey miss, how’s the mud?" Whoa!! Got hit on by a bug. Hey, listen to this. I told you I took a taxi for an hour yesterday, right? The taxi driver was this super energetic lady. When we got to the nearest station, she was calling out like crazy, "Want a ride? Want a ride?" I pretended not to understand Chinese, and I was like, "Huh?" But she just grabbed me and pulled me into the taxi. Then she asked, "Where are you going?" I was super scared but thought, okay, fine. At first, I thought she wasn’t the driver. But then she started driving. Then she said, "I need to go home and cook dinner, so maybe I should go back." Her husband was there too, and she told him, "Drive this girl!" But her husband was like, "It’s kind of far…" So in the end, she drove me herself. When there was traffic, she’d hit the brakes, honk the horn, open the door, and step out, yelling, "What are you doing?!" I wanted to film it so bad, so I started recording halfway through, but it ended before I could capture it all. It was seriously so funny. She would totally go viral on Shorts. I think she should start a YouTube channel. For those who get it, she was like the mom of Chu Onam in Mask Girl. She was like the mom of Chu Onam in Mask Girl. Since it’s located deep in the mountains, the roads were all twisty and turny. She was driving at like 80 km/h, super fast. If you know, you know, it felt like that mouse ride at Palpal (a Japanese amusement park). It was super scary. I think I lost about 20 years of my life. -Enjoying the mud bath- I took a shower and got all cleaned up. While I was showering, these old guys kept staring at me. There’s a hot spring and a shower area, and when I was washing up, they were totally staring! Gotta fend off these creepy old men. This is the pool area, there are like four pools here. It’s pretty big, so I’m gonna play here a bit. Look, ta-da! I got a floatie! I bought it at a nearby shop. Gonna have some fun with this. There’s no one here. The pool isn’t that popular, but the hot spring is super crowded. Ah, it’s cold… This is like an ice bath… Wait, it’s way too cold. This pool probably has ice in it. This is true, but I took swimming lessons and I’m really good at swimming, especially freestyle. I was probably the third fastest in my grade. Well, not really. I still want to eat later, so I’m gonna wrap up the hot springs and pool here. Oh, I did that on purpose. I’ve chosen this place for lunch. The mud bath was amazing! I feel like my skin is so smooth now. It was really great. It took about 2 to 3 hours from Taipei, so it was pretty far. But it’s really worth the trip. I actually came to Tainan just for this mud bath. But it was totally worth it, it was so good. That mud bath is up on a hill, and there’s a restaurant down the slope. It’s pretty popular, maybe because it’s Mother’s Day, so it’s really crowded today. There are a lot of families here. Ta-da! The food is here! This is the recommended chicken dish. I’m not sure what sauce this is, but they said there’s a spicy one and a non-spicy one. Alright, let’s dig in! Looks delicious. Yummy! Spicy!! The meat is pretty healthy. If I had to say something bad, it’s a bit dry, but the seasoning is really tasty. Taiwan really has amazing food. This trip to Guanziling has healed my mind and body. I’m so full now. It was really delicious. It truly felt like I was eating authentic Taiwanese food. The local flavor was amazing. And the mud bath was fantastic too.
