【新作で◯◯が話題になった人物】ジュドー・アーシタの人生【ガンダムキャラ解説】
Judau Ashta’s Life Judau Ashta is the main character of the TV anime "Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ" set in the year U.C. 0088. In the show, he fought battles aboard the Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam. He has an aloof yet active personality with a strong sense of justice. He loves his younger sister Leina very much, and there were many occasions when he lost his cool when it came to Leina. He is also a kind and gentle person who tries to help those who are suffering, regardless of whether they are friends or foes. In this video, I would like to explain the life of Judau Ashta. "I’m Judau Ashta. I’ve been skipping school." Judau was born in U.C. 0073 and is a 14-year-old boy in U.C. 0088, the year in which Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is set. He lives with his sister Leina in Shangri-La, one of the oldest colonies on Side 1. Although Shangri-La survived the One Year War that broke out in U.C. 0079, it was divided into two areas: a high-class residential area called "Yamanote" and a slum-like area called "Shitamachi," and some areas were unsafe due to deteriorating policies. In U.C. 0082, two years after the end of the One Year War, the Earth Federation government carried out a colony revival plan, and Judau’s parents left for other colonies to work, leaving Judau and Leina behind. In Gundam ZZ, his father is missing and his mother is away on business. Since his parents’ remittances were cut off, Judau, in order to earn a large income quickly, obtained a petit mobile suit license while neglecting his studies, and also ran a junk shop with his friends in order to send Leina to school in Yamanote. One day, the Argama, which had been severely damaged in the final battle of "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," arrived at the "Shangri-La" colony to be repaired and resupplied. At that time, Judau rescued Yazan Gable of the Titans from an escape capsule that he had picked up by chance. Yazan then urged Judau and the others to steal the Zeta Gundam from Argama and make a big profit. Judau took the bait and tried to sneak into the Argama and steal the Zeta Gundam, but Yazan, who had also infiltrated the Argama, took outrageous actions that could have killed his opponent, so he used the Zeta Gundam to fight off the mobile worker that Yazan was riding in, and as a result saved the Argama. Bright Noa, seeing Judau’s unbelievable maneuvering for the first time, was reminded of former Gundam pilots such as Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan. Later, the Neo Zeon cruiser Endra-class arrived at Shangri-La in pursuit of the Argama, and the captain of the Endra, Mashymre Cello, attacked the Argama with the "Galluss J". In response, Judau, who had once again invaded the Argama to steal the Zeta Gundam, took control of the Zeta Gundam and successfully drove Mashymre back. The captain of the Argama, Bright Noa, saw Judau’s success, and he foresaw that he was a superior Newtype like Amuro and Kamille. Bright tried to persuade Judau to become a pilot of the Argama, but Judau was not very enthusiastic and did not respond to his persuasion. However, as the Argama struggled against the Mashymre, which repeatedly attacked it, due to its lack of strength, Judau continued to cooperate with the Argama and drive the Neo Zeonist away, although he did so reluctantly under orders from Leina. He was involved in battles and repeatedly boarded the Zeta Gundam, and joined A.E.U.G. with his comrades, forming the Gundam Team with Beecha and others and "Roux Louka," a regular volunteer soldier of the Federation Forces, and fighting bravely. Later, he had a hard time against Hamma Hamma, which was boarded by Mashymre, but when he boarded the state-of-the-art "ZZ Gundam," which Roux brought back, he fought off Mashymre with his overwhelming power. Thus, Judau, who was entrusted with the ZZ Gundam, gradually developed his abilities as a Newtype and became even more active. After receiving the ZZ Gundam, Judau continued to pilot the Zeta Gundam and the Hyakushiki, but especially in the battle with Dreissen on the ground, Beecha went out with the ZZ Gundam on his own initiative to show that "Judau is strong because of the machine," but Dreissen beat him unilaterally, while Judau overwhelmed and shot down Dreissen with the Hyakushiki, which was already obsolete in the world of Gundam ZZ. In the work, Judau visits the old colony "Moon Moon," meets Kamille Bidan, and meets people such as Elpeo Ple, Kamille was talking to Judau with his thoughts, although he was in a state of self-doubt. Also, although Ple is a Neo Zeonist, she has taken a liking to Judau, and she ends up working together with Judau. However, when the Psycho Gundam Mk-II driven by Ple Two attacked the Argama, she went out with the dismantled Qubeley Mk-II to stop it, but died while protecting Judau. In response, Judau cut down both Psycho Gundam Mk-IIs with a large beam saber that had its thoughts amplified by the ZZ Gundam’s biosensors. After Leina is taken away by the Neo Zeon in the middle of the story, he begins to actively fight the Neo Zeon on his own initiative, but his desire to save his sister is so strong that he begins to act recklessly on his own. He even wrapped a bomb around a ZZ Gundam and rode alone into Neo Zeon to get Leina back. Haman was attracted to Judau’s qualities as a Newtype and invited him to become a comrade, but Judau refused. Later, when the Neo Zeon hosted a party at the Dakar Guest House on the ground, Judau entered to rescue Leina, but Haman found him and almost shot him. In defending him, Leina was wounded by a bullet. At this time, Judau exploded with anger and frightened Haman with the strength of his reminder. After that, Haman repeatedly approached Judau to become her comrade, but Judau rejected Haman as a source of evil. Later, an MS in battle fell on the hut where the injured Leina was sleeping and exploded, and Leina disappeared and Jude was in despair. However, with the support of his comrades, he stood up to Neo Zeon to end the war itself, which involved many people, and demonstrated his strength as a Newtype. Then, on January 7, U.C. 0089, the final phase of the First Neo Zeon War, Judau faced Haman Karn’s Qubeley in single combat. In the end, Judau won the battle by a paper-thin margin and tried to save Haman, but Haman refused and took his life. "He who begets hatred, spit out the blood that breeds hatred!" Judau then volunteered to join the crew of the Jupitris II, which the Jupiter fleet was to begin sailing to resume operations, along with Roux. Then, on March 15, U.C. 0089, in the lunar city of Von Braun, while about to board the Jupitris II, which had brought in parts of the Zeta Gundam, he was reunited with Leina, who was actually alive, and they hugged each other. Leina was thought to be dead, but in fact, she was rescued by Sayla Mass just in time. Thus, Judau was sent off to Jupiter by his comrades, and the story of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ came to an end. As a side note, according to the book "Data Gundam Character Biographies: Universal Century Arc II," the shot-down score in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is 10 for Elle, 14 for Beecha, 11 for Mondo, and 23 for Roux, while Judau alone has 63 aircraft plus 2 battleships, which is an outstanding score, even with the power of ZZ. “I knew it was only because of my power.” Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is a work in which the story proceeds in a comical style in the first half and changes to a more serious development in the latter half, but throughout the entire work, Judau is depicted as growing up through encounters with various people. In the TV version of this work, Amuro Ray and Char Aznable do not appear in the TV version, but in the novel version, Amuro Ray does appear, so we can see scenes of Judau and Amuro together. Overall, the storyline of the novel version is similar to that of the TV version, especially on the ground, where Amuro supports Judau aboard the Schuzrum Dias. Also, Beltorchika Irma appears with Amuro, and is shown looking at the ZZ Gundam and joking that the "Triple Zeta Gundam" is next in line. Amuro is second only to Judau in being a favorite of Ple; when Judau loses Leina, he throws away Leina’s red heel, and when Judau goes up into space, he says "I’ll go up into space when I’m done with Char.” According to the book "Mobile Suit Gundam Complete Works," the production of the movie "Char’s Counterattack" was decided during the broadcast of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, so Char Aznable, who was scheduled to appear in the latter half of the story, did not appear in the work. Judau also appeared in the OVA "GUNDAM EVOLVE. /10" depicts Judau going off in a ZZ-GR on his way to Jupiter to engage in battle, and he also appears in a number of manga works. In "Mobile Suit Vs. Giant God of Legend: Gigantis’ Counterattack," set in the year U.C. 0091, Amuro appears to Judau living in the Jupiter sphere and fights to prevent the activation of the mysterious giant weapon "Gigantis," which was discovered by the Neo Zeon remnants. Amuro and Judau are both flying the "Mega Zeta," a modified prototype ZZ Gundam. In the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Legend of Hero," Kai Shiden and Elle Vianno visit Shangri-La in U.C. 0094 to search for Amuro, who disappeared after the Axis Shock in U.C. 0093, and fight Yazan and the Neo Zeon remnants, Judau rushes aboard the ZZ Gundam to save Kai’s life. This work was serialized in the anthology comic collection "SD Club," but since it has not been published in book form or as an e-book, it now commands a premium and is extremely difficult to obtain. Next, "Mobile Suit Gundam mooncrisis" is set in U.C. 0099 and features a member of the Jupiter Helium-3 collecting fleet returning to Earth. Other than Judau, no names are written, but Beecha and someone who looks like Roux also appear in the story. Also, in the manga "Mobile Suit V Gundam Project Exodus," a character named Grey Stoke, who is the leader of the Jupiter fleet and calls himself "Grandpa Jupiter," appears. The MS "Gump" that Grey carries looks like a modified ZZ Gundam, and it is said that his true identity may be Judau, based on his appearance, words, and actions. Grey Stoke has also made many appearances in the Crossbone Gundam series. In the manga "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heart," he collaborates with Tovia Alonax and others to fight against Amakusa, which is equipped with Amuro Ray’s bio-brain. He also appears in the manga "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7". When the manga "Skull Heart" appeared in the game "SD Gundam G-Generation Spirits," Kazuki Yao, the same voice actor as Judau, was used as the voice of Grey, and there are dialogues with Haman and other Gundam ZZ characters. In addition, in the TCG "GUNDAM WAR", there is a restriction that Grey’s card cannot be played when Judau is on the field, which makes us think that Judau and Grey are the same person. However, in the manga "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam LOVE & PIECE," which has been serialized in Gundam Ace since 2022, Grey Stoke appears as "Brother Jupiter" instead of "Grandpa Jupiter" shortly before his age, and is fighting against the Jupiter Empire. In the character description of Grey Stoke in the January 2023 issue, it is stated that "His true identity is believed to be that ace pilot who was active in the First Neo Zeon War, but the truth is unknown", In other words, in various works, Gray and Judau are portrayed as what can only be considered the same person, yet they are never explicitly stated to be "the same person". As a side note, the smartphone game "U.C. ENGAGE" and the manga PV for the comic "Around Thirty Office Worker Haman-sama" depict Judau’s newly recorded voice. However, Judau’s voice has been talked about as having changed, and in some cases the commentary has been turned off in certain official PVs.
