International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach on Wednesday said he was confident that they’d be able to offer a safe environment for all at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
The 2020 summer Olympics were postponed in March due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bach said there were “different options under consideration” for vaccine availabilities amid recent reports of progress in various COVID-19 vaccines, though he stressed the first wave of vaccines must be for people in need.
The committee president also announced on Wednesday that the NBA had agreed to a shortened season to allow players to compete in the 2021 games next summer.
