STORYLINE:
American sprinter Justin Gatlin said on Sunday that athletes will have hard time adapting themselves to anti-virus measures taken by organizers during the Tokyo 2020 games.
The five-time Olympic medalist participated in athletics test event held at Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium, just 10 weeks before the same area is scheduled to host the opening ceremonies.
Gatlin won the test event men’s 100-meter final and said he hopes to duplicate again in Tokyo if he makes the American Olympic team.
Gatlin called the test event a success, but athletes need to stay vigilant to secure their safety and the safety of Japanese citizens.
