A dazzling display of fireworks marked the end of the Tokyo Olympics closing ceremony on Sunday night.
The ceremony took place in a stadium devoid of spectators, bringing a delayed and heavily restricted Games to a close.
Held in the middle of a resurging pandemic, rejected by many Japanese and plagued by months of administrative problems, these Games presented logistical and medical obstacles like no other.
