Ryugu was discovered on 10 may 1999. Diameter 900 meters and mass 450 billion kilograms.It is considered as sibling of Asteroid Bennu. Both are formed at the beginning of the solar system.To study about this asteroid Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched Hayabusa2 spacecraft in 2014. Hayabusa2 arrived Ryugu in 2018.Spacecraft spent months to survey the asteroid.On Feb 2019 Hayabusa2 dropped bombs to create an artificial crater on asteroid surface.To collect asteroid samples.
Hayabusa2 collected asteroid samples successfully and plans to deliver it to Australia in dec 6,2020.
